SUMMARY:North Hollywood Community Ride
DESCRIPTION:Join Metro Bike Share for this beginner & family-friendly\, summertime ride! The ride will begin at the North Hollywood Metro Bike Share Station located conveniently near the G Line and B Line stations on the northwest corner of Lankershim and Chandler. We will ride in the bike lane past the Arts District businesses to the Chandler Bike Path\, where we will ride past the Lankershim Depot and various murals. This is an out-and-back flat route that is welcoming to riders of all abilities! \nIf you would like to use a Metro Bike Share bike at no-cost\, please reserve an “I need to borrow a bike” ticket when you register. Participants will also receive a FREE helmet. \nRIDE INFO \nStart and End: North Hollywood Station \nLength: 5-mile round trip bike ride on flat streets primarily utilizing Chandler Bike Path \nExperience Level: This route is great for novice riders\, those who haven’t ridden in a while\, and for those looking to socialize. You must be 16+ to ride a Metro Bike. This ride is welcoming of children on personal bikes. Children must either be secured in an approved child carrier or riding their own bicycle and supervised by an adult at all times. \nGetting There: \n\nBiking: Plan your trip with the Metro Bike Map.\nPublic Transit: Metro rail and bus\, including the G Line and B Line to North Hollywood Station – for more information\, please visit metro.net/tripplanner.\nParking: Metered parking and paid parking are both available on-street and at the North Hollywood Train Station\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\nParticipants 16 years and older can reserve a Metro Bike at no cost to attend this event\nA functional bicycle or wheeled device (highly recommended with gears) if you would prefer to provide your own. We do not have a mechanic on the ride and recommend you carry your own tire repair kit.\nHand sanitizer\nTAP card or money for fare if you plan to use the Metro bus or train ($1.75 per ride)\nA helmet (If you do not have one\, one will be provided free of charge)\nWater bottle\n\nSafety Protocols: \nWe will be observing strict protocols during the ride to ensure the safety and comfort of all participants. Please keep in mind the following rules while attending the ride: \n\nIf you are feeling sick or unwell\, please stay home.\nMetro Bike Share will provide helmets\, water\, and ride marshals.\nParticipants are required to sign a release of liability.
