Koreatown Ride Guide

Slow your roll and take a leisurely ride with Metro Bike Share!

Explore Koreatown on quieter neighborhood streets and be sure to take note of the distinct architecture from block to block that features historic art deco buildings with terra cotta facades. Feeling hungry or thirsty? There are also plenty of locally owned restaurants on the route, so be sure to properly dock your Metro bike before taking a break. Enjoy the ride!  

Koreatown Sights

Start/endpoint: Shatto Place and Wilshire (Wilshire/Vermont Rail Station)

The Wilshire / Vermont Rail Station serves both the B Line (Red) and D Line (Purple). Please exit towards Shatto Place if you are arriving via rail.

  • Metro Local and Metro Rapid: 16, 18, 20, 66, 204, 206, 207, 210, 720, 754
  • Metro Rail: B Line , D Line 

Conditions: 4 miles on flat, bike-friendly roads. Please be alert and courteous while you ride and use your best judgement. Road conditions may change over time. As a reminder, please never leave your Metro Bike unattended. 

Notes: Always return your Metro Bike to a Metro Bike Share station to end your trip. Never leave your Metro Bike unattended!

Directions:

  • The Wilshire / Vermont Rail Station serves both the B Line and D Line. Please exit towards Shatto Place if you are arriving via Metro Rail.  Release a bike from Shatto Place & Wilshire Metro Bike Share Station
  • Turn right onto Shatto Place.
  • As you approach Wilshire, we recommend you dismount and cross the intersection via the marked crosswalks. Left turns are not allowed.
  • On your right-hand side, you will see a large shopping plaza. Dismount and walk to see the large public art piece titled “Los Angeles Opens Its Heart of Compassion” in the center of the plaza. Do not leave your bike unattended. Continue southbound on Shatto Place.  
  • Turn right onto W 7th Street. 
  • Turn left onto New Hampshire Ave. 
  • Turn right onto W 9th Street/James M Wood Blvd. 
  • Turn right onto S Normandie Ave.  
  • Turn left onto W 7th street. Right before Oxford Avenue, you will see the Pio Pico Koreatown Library on your right-hand side. Please be sure to dock your Metro Bike at the Wiltern Metro Bike Share Station if you plan to enter the library.
