BEST Ride: Metro Bike Share Season of Sharing

December 19, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Join LA County Bicycle Coalition and Metro Bike Share for this family-friendly, winter-themed ride to celebrate the Season of Sharing.

About this event

**RIDE ATTENDANCE WILL BE CAPPED AT 30 PARTICIPANTS TO ENSURE LIMITED ATTENDANCE AND SAFE DISTANCING **

Join LA County Bicycle Coalition and Metro Bike Share for this family-friendly, winter-themed ride to celebrate the Season of Sharing, sponsored by Metro’s Bicycle Education Safety Training (BEST) Program. The ride will begin at the Union Station West Portal Bike Share station and give riders a chance to experience the protected bike lanes along Main and Spring while we enjoy holiday décor around the neighborhood. Feel free to wear an ugly sweater or other holiday garb to add to our festive cheer!

Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable pantry and essential items that can be donated to a local food pantry / essentials drive as we uplift community and togetherness during this holiday season. The Metro Bike Share team will be collecting these items and delivering them to organizations before the holidays. Some suggested items include:

  • Canned goods (soup, beans, fruit, veggies, fish)
  • Dried goods (beans, fruit, herbs)
  • Shelf-stable milk and alternative milk
  • Peanut or other nut butters
  • Rice
  • Pasta and noodles
  • Diapers
  • Baby wipes
  • Personal hygiene/sanitary items

Pre-registration and attendance confirmation is required for all participants. Once you are registered, we will send you a waiver and location information to confirm your attendance. If you are attending with other family members, each person must be registered separately in order to attend. Register now to guarantee your spot!

If you need to use a bike, Metro Bike Share will be making a limited number of bikes available to use for this event at no cost to the user. If you are interested in trying Bike Share, please reserve an “I need to borrow a bike” ticket when you register. All attendees who join this ride will also receive a code for a FREE 30-Day Metro Bike Share Pass redeemable at any time. You can redeem this code online at metro.net/bikeshare or in the Metro Bike Share app.
