Metro Bike Share Women’s History Community Ride

Join Metro Bike Share for a community ride for Women’s History Month! The ride will feature five different locations that connect important spaces for women throughout Downtown LA, from women-designed architecture to spaces of change for women’s rights. This 4.9-mile ride starts at Union Station West Portal and loops through Downtown LA stopping at various landmarks.

Conditions: Easy to moderate elevation on primarily protected bike lanes in Downtown LA

- Biddy Mason Memorial Park (Biddy Mason)
- California Market Center (Norma Merrick Sklarek)
- Herald-Examiner Building (Julia Morgan)
- Hotel Figueroa (former YMCA funded entirely by women)
Getting There:
- Public Transit: This ride is accessible via Patsaouras Bus Plaza as well as the Metro A Line (Blue), B Line (Red), and D Line (Purple). For assistance in planning your route, please visit https://trips.metro.net/
- Parking: Paid parking is available at Union Station.
Experience Level: Intermediate / Family-Friendly
What to Bring:
- Riders 16 years and older can reserve a Metro Bike with their free event ticket
- A functional bicycle or wheeled device (highly recommended with gears)
- Hand sanitizer
- TAP card or money for fare if you plan to use the Metro bus or train
- A helmet is required if under 18 (we can also provide you with a helmet)
- Bike lights (front white light and red rear light)
- Reflective gear and bright-colored clothing
- Water Bottle
